Quantitative Astrophysics Methodology
FastCosmos combines peer-reviewed astrophysical scaling relations with deterministic, unit-tested TypeScript calculation libraries and automated build gates.
Nominal Constants & Reference Frames
All astronomical calculations in FastCosmos adhere to IAU 2012 Resolution B2 (exact astronomical unit 1 AU = 149,597,870,700 m) and IAU 2015 Resolution B2/B3 (nominal solar conversion constants T_eff,☉ = 5,772 K, M_bol,☉ = 4.74 mag, and 1 R_☉ = 109.076 R_⊕). Baseline cosmological calculations use the Planck 2018 flat ΛCDM parameters (H₀ = 67.36 ± 0.54 km/s/Mpc, Ω_m = 0.3153 ± 0.0073) while explicitly contrasting local distance-ladder calibrations (SH0ES H₀ = 73.04 ± 1.04 km/s/Mpc; CCHP TRGB H₀ = 69.9 ± 1.7 km/s/Mpc).
Automated Build & Content Quality Gates
Before any release is deployed, automated Vitest suites verify every calculation against independent known-answer benchmarks, check every article against the 9-point scientific concept gate (direct answer, physical mechanism, formula, quantitative benchmarks, observational evidence, uncertainty notes, real examples, learning paths, and primary sources), and enforce Epistemic Standards.
